Direction: On a clean piece of paper, solve and show your solutions of the following problems. Give the constant of variation (2 pts), equation of variation (1 pt) and box the final answer (2
pts). Always express fractions in lowest term. Attach your outputs to this page.
1. y varies directly as x: when x + 2 y 14, find y when x = 10.
2. The weight of an object on the moon varies directly as its weight on Earth. An astronaut who weighs
80kg on Earth weighs 12.8 kg on the moon. How much would a 100 kg person weigh on the moon?

episodes of "Game of Thrones" which were each an hour long. "The Office" has 201 episodes, each
30 minutes long. How long will it take to watch the series?
5. Y varies directly as x and inversely as z, and y = 6 when x = 8 and z = 4. Find y when x = 12 and
z = 9.
