How to find the distance with an angle and a velocity?

First of all, make sure that the angle you have is less than 90 degrees, if not, make sure to focus in on the quadrant and make it 90 degrees and less. 

If you want to find the vertical distance of the vector, use this formula; 
y=r(sinθ) <-- look carefully and you will see that it can be rearranged to y/r=sinθ where r represents the magnitude of the hypotnuse. 

If you want to find the horizontal distance of the vector, use this formula; 
x=r(cosθ) <-- again, this formula can be rearranged to x/r=cosθ where r is the magnitude.
