How do i write 1.2 as a mixed number in simplest form?

First of all you have to figure what the unit would be. Since it is a decimal and the number 2 is in the tenths place, the unit would be 10. Ok so the mixed number would be 1 2/10. But you want it in simplest form. Easy. 2/10 would be 1/5 because when you divide 2/2 into 2/10 it gives you 1/5. So the answer in simplest form would be 1 1/5. Hope this helped
