For example: number of raviolis made in 5 hrs, 10 hrs.

y = 5x                                             
y = 5 (5hrs)                                          y = 5 (10hrs)
y = 25 raviolis in 5 hrs.                      y = 50 raviolis in 10 hrs.

When you divide the total number of raviolis made by the total number of hours spent in making the raviolis, you will get the constant ratio or constant of variation.
