Solve x/48=5/6 using two different methods

It says equal s what ever 5/6 is it has to be x/48

Method 1:
x/48=5/6
=> 6x=48*5
=> 6x=240
=> x=40
Method 2:
x/48=5/6
x/(6*8)=5/6
x/(6*8)=(5*8)/(6*8)
x/(6*8)=40/(6*8)
The denominators are the same, therefore, x =40.
