Let's named variables, new workers as x and experienced workers sa y.

We get two equations
x+y =68 ∧ 9.50x+14y=835

From the first equation we have x=68-y, then replace in the second and get

9.5 (68-y) + 14y = 835 =>   646 - 9.5y+14y=835 

4.5y= 835-646 => 4.5y=189  => y= 189/4.5 = 42
