The Pythagorean theorem can be used for this.

.. tree height = √((tip distance)² -(shadow length)²)
.. tree height = √((60 ft)² -(40 ft)²) = √(2000 ft²)
.. tree height ≈ 44.72 ft

It would be the second one because it passes the vertical line test
