Here is the sequence we are given:
11, 15. 19, 23,
Looking at this sequence of number very well, you will discover that there is a difference of 4 between each subsequent number. This implies that each time 4 is added to the previous number the next number is obtained. 
Because of this difference,  4n - 1 will give us the simplest form of the general term.
For instance, to find the first number of the sequence, we will have:
[4 * 1] - 1 = 3.
For the second number, we will have: 4 * 2 - 1 = 7.
Thus, the first number of the series is 3 and the second is 7.
Therefore, the seqeunce will go like this: 3, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23, 27, 31, 35, 39,
