Did you mean to say    (2) / (3c) = -8    ?

If so, then let's attack it this way:

Multiply each side of the equation by  3c :    2 = (-8) x (3c) = -24c

Divide each side of the equation by  24 :       2/24 = -c

Multiply each side by  -1 :                     c = -2/24 = -1/12

(2c/3)=-8

2c=-24

Therefore, c=-12.
