Plz create your own "greenhouse" to demonstrate the greenhouse effect. then summarize the data you collect in a report. 1. place a thermometer in the bottom of each shoe box. 2. tightly cover one of the boxes with clear plastic or glass. leave the other box open. 3. place the boxes in direct sunlight so the bottom of the box is filled with light. record the temperature in the boxes once each minute for fifteen minutes. 4. remove the boxes from the direct sunlight and continue to record the temperature for another fifteen minutes.

The box that had a cover had a faster temperature rise and a higher temperature rise. Both box temperature dropped when removed from the sunlight. This experiment demonstrates the greenhouse effect with the covered box presenting Earth with the cover as the greenhouse gases. The sunlight hits the box/earth, and the cover/greenhouse gases trap the heat radiating out from the surface of the planet/box. This keeps the earth/box warm and this process is called the greenhouse effect.
