The ocean is distributed in four zones:

Intertidal zone: Is the zone which we see, it contains lowest tides. It is also known as littoral zone. High amount of sunlight and oxygen is present.

Animals in this zone: sea palms, sea stars, snails, sponges, and whelks

Pelagic zone: It contains the ocean column that is neither near the shore nor the bottom of ocean.

Animals: Tunas, sharks and large marine mammals.

Abyssal zone: It is the bottom ocean and this area is present at depths of 4,000 to 6,000 meters (13,000 to 20,000 ft). There is no presence of light in this area.

Animals: Anglerfish, deep sea jellyfish, deep sea shrimp, cookiecutter shark and tripod fish.

Benthic zone:

The most deepest part of the ocean. It actually contains sediment surfaces and sub-surface layers.

Animals: Worms, bivalves, echinoderms, sea anemones, corals, sponges, sea squirts, turbellarians and larger crustaceans.
