what is the debate regarding sending people to planets versus sending robots to planets?

humans are needed to get full experiance of space and planets but robots are needed to get firther and get knolege about the crust of a planet befor the human can go to that planet so this is why they are both needed in the research of space

➷ basically, people are unsure whether people should be sent or robots. a positive of sending robots is that they obviously don't have to provide things such as food/water/oxygen. however, robots would not exactly know what to look for. this would mean that the whole expedition could end up being a waste of money. on the other hand, if humans were sent, the would know what to study and what data to collect - making the expedition more useful. however, there may be a lack of people who want to do it. also, it would cost quite a bit to provide things for the people. if you need any more points, just ask.
