Describe the movement of the particles in solids liquids and gases

The particles of a gas move quickly and have enough energy to spread apart from one another. They take the shape of their container, because they have indefinite shape and indefinite volume.

The particles in liquids are close together, but they have enough energy to slide past one another. Liquids have definite volume, but not definite shape.

The particles in a solid are tightly packed, but still moving. They vibrate in place. Solids have a definite shape and a definite volume.
