Consider the minkowski space in spherical coordinates (t, r, θ, φ) and perform a transformation of coordinates to a system in rotation given by t '= t, r' = r, θ '= θ, φ' = φ + ωt.

(a) find the metric in the new coordinates and all christoffel symbols.

(b) take θ '= θ = π/2. write the equations of the geod'esica and compare with the equations d²xi'/dt'² = f^i , find the value of the "inertial forces" f ^ i. is it possible to have a particle at rest in these coordinates
(u^r' = u^φ' = 0) without applying an external force? if required, what is the external force that must be added to ensure that the particle remains at rest?

Two 1.20-m nonconducting wires meet at a right angle. one segment carries + 2.50 µc of charge distributed uniformly along its length, and the other carries - 2.50 µc distributed uniformly along it, as shown in fig. 21.50. ( a. find the magnitude and direction of the electric field these wires produce at point p, which is 60.0 cm from each wire. ( b. if an electron is released at p, what are the magnitude and direction of the net force that these wires exert on it?

In 1859, charles darwin published the first edition of on the origin of species, which explained his observations of various groups of animals that showed great similarities but minor differences. darwin concluded that if a population of one species separates into two different populations that live in separate locations, then over the course of many generations the different populations can develop into different species. this idea predicted many future biological findings and became the basis of modern biology. darwin’s explanation for why different species exist is best described as a(n) law. theory. inquiry. hypothesis.
