An am radio station broadcasts signals using electromagnetic waves at some specific fre- quency between 540khz and 1600khz in 10khz increments. with multiple radio stations present, your radio antenna will be receiving all these signals simultaneously, and in order to “tune into” one particular station, your radio must filter out unwanted frequencies. a tunable series rlc circuit can be used for this purpose. you have a 15.0 inductor, several resistors, and a variable capacitor handy. [the ac source is the signal coming from an antenna.] (a) what should the capacitance be set to in order to tune into a station that broadcasts at 870khz? (b) if you use a 1ω resistor in the circuit, what will be the total circuit impedance at the desired frequency of 870 khz, and what will it be at the neighboring frequency of 880 khz? (c) you find this is not sufficient to tune out the neighboring frequency. what value of r would give an impedance ratio of 20?
