Given that a canon ball is shot out of a canon at 280 miles per hour, is located 1 meter above the ground when the cannon ball exits the canon, the canon is angled at 45◦ relative to the ground, and is positioned so that the cannon is shot due north (meridionally) from a starting latitude of 35◦n,

a) determine where the cannon ball would land in degrees if the earth were not rotating. it is ok to assume drag due to the air is negligible.

b) determine how far off in the zonal direction the cannon ball will land if the earth is rotating in units of km. imagine in this case that the summation of forces in the meridional direction are still zero (mdυ/dt = 0) and that coriolis only affects the force balance in the zonal direction (mdu/dt = mfv).

c) determine how far off in the zonal direction the cannon ball will land if the cannon ball were shot on jupiter instead of earth in units of km.
