Newton’s law of cooling

this projects aims to study heatstroke caused by heat exposure inside of a car. to perform the tasks of this project, assume the age of the subject is (3 years old.) next, choose a weight appropriate for your given age and justify your choice (weight is 30 lbs.) next, complete the following items:

a) during a heatstroke, at what body temperature is your subject in danger of dying? ( 104 f.) at what temperature does death occur? ( 107 f.)

b) use the differential equation for newton’s law of cooling to create a model for the change in temperature of the infant as a function of time. state any and all variables and parameters that you use and state their units. make sure your units "match" and make sense in context. be sure to include an initial condition, and describe what it represents and why it makes sense. do not solve the differential equation at this step!

c) next, determine, state, and justify your value for the transmission coefficient k, also known as the heat transfer coefficient. describe the process you used to find it and provide any relevant work. do not solve the differential equation at this step!

d) now, solve the model analytically. show all of your work and provide all relevant steps. don’t forget to use your initial condition after determining the general solution.

e) what is the "danger area" for your subject? in other words, determine the intervals in time and temperature for which the subject is at risk of dying. determine reasonable endpoints that make physical sense; an infinite temperature is as deadly as it is unattainable.

specific heat of child 98.6 f.
