Asteam power plant operates on as illustrated in the figure below (follow the numbers from the problem statement not the figure), however it only includes one feedwater heater. steam enters the turbine at 4,500 kpa and 500 c and exhausts at 20 kpa. steam for the feedwater is extracted from the turbine at 350 kpa, and in condensing raises the temperature of the feedwater to within 6 c of its condensation temperature at 350 kpa. if the turbine and pump efficiencies are both 0.78, what is the thermal efficiency of the cycle and what fraction of the steam entering the turbine is extracted for the feedwater heater? note.- i would suggest you use the figure to create your own with the information from the problem statement.

A75-hp (shaft output) motor that has an efficiency of 91.0 percent is worn out and is to be replaced by a high-efficiency motor that has an efficiency of 95.4 percent. the motor operates 4368 hours a year at a load factor of 0.75. taking the cost of electricity to be $0.12/kwh, determine the amount of energy and money saved as a result of installing the high-efficiency motor instead of the standard motor. also, determine the simple payback period if the pu
