Bryce, a mouse lover, keeps his four pet mice in a roomy cage, where they spend much of their spare time–when they're not sleeping or eating–joyfully scampering about on the cage's floor. bryce tracks his mice's health diligently and just now recorded their masses as 15.7 g, 16.3 g, 22.7 g, and 22.1 g. at this very instant the x and y components of the mice's velocities are, respectively, (0.539 m/s, -0.271 m/s), (-0.943 m/s, -0.151 m/s), (0.517 m/s, 0.485 m/s), and (-0.713 m/s, 0.905 m/s).

calculate the x and y components of bryce's mice's total momentum, px and py.

You and a friend (alex) are at a a tree-top adventure park .. . part of the course requires you to climb up a rope. you both climb the same rope in the same amount of time. however, the tension in the rope is greater when alex climbs. who did the most work? alex did - more tension means more force - more force means more work was done you did - less tension means less force - less force means more work was done to find the work done, the force exerted and distance moved are multiplied. a couch is moved twice before you are happy with its placement. the same force was used to move the couch both times. if more work is done the first time it is moved, what do you know about the distance it was moved? when more work was done, the couch was moved less. when more work was done, the couch was moved further. when more work was done, the couch wasn't moved at all. when more work was done, the couch was moved the same distance.

A1000-kg weather rocket is launched straight up. the rocket motor provides a constant acceleration for 16-s, then the motor stops. the rocket altitude 20-s after launch is 510-m. you can ignore any effects of air resistance. a. what was the rocket’s acceleration during the first 16-s? b. what is the rocket’s speed as it passes through a cloud 5100-m above the ground?

Emmy kicks a soccer ball up at an angle of 45° over a level field. she watches the ball's trajectory and notices that it lands, two seconds after being kicked, about 20 m away to the north. assume that air resistance is negligible, and plot the horizontal and vertical components of the ball's velocity as a function of time. consider only the time that the ball is in the air, after being kicked but before landing. take "north" and "up" as the positive ‑ and ‑directions, respectively, and use ≈10 m/s2 for the downward acceleration due to gravity.
