Here is an experiment you can run on your own. All you need is a plastic comb, a faucet, and a head full of dry hair. Comb
for about a minute. Now turn on the faucet, but only so that a very small stream of water is coming out. Next, take the con
hold it close to the water coming out of the faucet, but be careful not to let the water actually touch the comb.
You will see the water actually bend towards the comb! This looks pretty awesome.
What is causing the water to do this?
Water has a natural attraction to plastic.
Static electricity built up in the comb is attracting the water.
Static electricity built up in the water is attracting the comb.
Since your hair and the comb were dry, the faucet water runs towards the
comb, trying to get it wet.
