If you just stand still on an escalator (moving stairway), it takes 20 seconds for it to carry you up one floor, about 5 meters. But if you walk up, you get to the top of the escalator in only 12 seconds. A. How much work does the escalator do in lifting you up to the next floor, if you just stand there? B. How much if you walk up? C. Some people expect the answer in part b to be the same as in part a, saying that the escalator is still exerting the same force over the same distance; some people expect it to be more, saying that when you walk up your feet press down harder on the stairs than the do if you just stand, so the force is greater; and some people expect it should be less, saying that you're expending energy, so the escalator must expend less. So... explain the problem with the reasoning by the folks who have it wrong.

(1 point) match the differential equations and their vector valued function solutions. you may wish to multiply at least one solution out fully, to make sure that you know how to do it. you can get the other answers quickly by process of elimination and just multiply out one row element.

Select light for the type of wave, adjust the wavelength so that the light is red, and increase the amplitude of the light to the max. then, select the start button at the source location to begin producing the waves. light is a form of electromagnetic wave, containing oscillating electric and magnetic fields. the wave amplitude detector mentioned above shows how the electric field oscillates in time at the location of the probe. the amplitude of the wave at the location of the probe is equal to the maximum electric field measured. how does the amplitude of the wave depend on the distance from the source?
