We will use a video to analyze the dependence of the magnitude of the Coulomb force between two electrically-charged spheres on the distance between the centers of the spheres. The electrical interaction is one of the fundamental forces of nature and acts between any pair of charged objects, therefore it is important to understand how precisely the separation distance affects the corresponding force between them. Specifically, we will:. A. Study conceptually the nature of electric charge and force. B. Take measurements of the force exerted between two electrically-charged spheres as the distance between them is varied. C. Determine graphically the relationship between electric force and distance.
