The various activities involved in the operation of an automated batching manufacturing system are described in this section. In this assignment, you are asked to use RS-Logix software to develop the corresponding PLC programming code and the ladder diagram for the following control operations:

1. There are two ingredients (A and B) that will be mixed in the reactor tank.
2. The reactor tank must be empty as indicated by the normally closed Liquid Level Switch (LLS) Empty Switch (NC) and at a temperature of 100oC before ingredient A can be added.
3. To start the process, the mixer motor M1 should be off to avoid liquid precipitation, and the Finish Product Tank should be in position as detected by a Limit Switch LS4.
4. Once the initial temperature is set, ingredient A will be added to the tank by opening the Solenoid Valve SOL1, until 100 gallons have been poured in.
