Two horizontal parallel conducting rods are connected such that a conducting crossbar free to slide along them has a constant current I running through it (Figure 1) . The rods are separated by a distance L and are in an external uniform magnetic field of magnitude B directed out of the screen. The crossbar has a length L and mass m.
If there is a coefficient of static friction between rods and crossbar, what is the minimum current I necessary for the crossbar to move? For the length L of the bar use the notation l.
Express your answer in terms of some or all of the variables l, B, m, the static friction , and the acceleration due to gravity g.

Although longitudinal waves can travel through all media types what is the disadvantage of this type of wave transmission? a) he efficiency of he wave transmission is greatly diminished as the media becomes less dense b) the oscillation of one set of particles has a huge impact on neighboring particles c) particles become too close together as they bump into each other making it more likely to hit other particles down the line

When a vertical beam of light passes through a transparent medium, the rate at which its intensity i decreases is proportional to i(t), where t represents the thickness of the medium (in feet). in clear seawater, the intensity 3 feet below the surface is 25% of the initial intensity i0 of the incident beam. what is the intensity of the beam "10" feet below the surface? (give your answer in terms of i0. round any constants or coefficients to five decimal places.)
