3. An experiment was performed in the biomechanics lab to simulate the cardiac activity in order to investigate the relationship between blood’s viscosity and cardiac output. The experiment included a heart model which was able to generate a cardiac systolic pressure of 130 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of 85 mmHg; a set of flexible polymer tubes were used to simulate the blood vessels. The tubes had length of 200mm and dimeter ranging from 2 to 4mm in increment of 0.1mm. A fluid with viscosity similarly to that of blood (125 millipoise) was used in the experiment (1 mmHg. s = 7.5 *1e-7millipoise). Calculate and plot the viscosity resistance of the blood versus vessel radius and the cardiac output versus blood’s resistance. Discuss your findings.
