Directions:
1. Gather your materials
a 2 identical cups
b. 2 cups of cold water
C. 2 ice cubes
d. Thermometer
e. Timer (stopwatch, phone, or google stopwatch and use that)
2. Pour 1 cup of cold water into each of your cups. Label 1 cup "ice"
and one "no ice"
3. Using the thermometer, measure the temperature of the water in each
cup and record in the data table under "initial temperature.” The
temperature of the water should be the same in both cups - If it isn't,
dump out the water and start again.
4. Place the two ice cubes in the cup labeled "ice"
5. Set the stopwatch/timer for 10 minutes.
6. When the timer goes off, measure the temperature of both cups and
record in the data table
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the ice has melted. Take one final
temperature reading after the ice has melted.
8. Make a graph of your data following the steps in analysis question 1
9. Answer all 7 Questions at the end of the lab sheet.
10. Submit your assignment to the 2.05 Lab Drop box
