In a Millikan oil-drop experiment, the condenser plates are spaced 2.00 cm apart, the potential across the plates is 4000 V, the rise or fall distance is 4.00 mm, the density of the oil droplets is 0.800 g/cm3 , and the viscosity of the air is 1.81 105 kg m1 s 1 . The average time of fall in the absence of an electric field is 15.9 s. The following different rise times in seconds are observed when the field is turned on: 36.0, 17.3, 24.0, 11.4, 7.54. (a) Find the radius and mass of the drop used in this experiment. (b) Calculate the charge on each drop, and show that charge is quantized by considering both the size of each charge and the amount of charge gained (lost) when the rise time changes. (c) Determine the electronic charge from these data. You may assume that e lies between 1.5 and 2.0 1019 C. 7.

Give your knowledge of these things in your paper, you will compare and contrast analog and digital signals to determine which is more reliable for encoding and transmitting information. you’ll compare these features: signal shape numerical values for signal measurements amount of data that can be transmitted energy requirements privacy and security (ability of the signal to be encoded in a secret code) clarity of signal in the space provided, write down what you already know about any of these features. if you’re not sure, write down questions you might have about the features.

Aboat radioed a distress call to a coast guard station. at the time of the call, a vector a from the station to the boat had a magnitude of 45.0 km and was directed 15.0° east of north. a vector from the station to the point where the boat was later found is = 30.0 km, 15.0° north of east. what are the components of the vector from the point where the distress call was made to point where the boat was found? in other words, what are the components of vector c = b - a?
