Electrons accelerated to an energy E have a de Broglie wavelength λ small enough for them to probe the structure within a target nucleus by scattering from the structure. Assume that the energy is so large that the extreme relativistic relation p = E/c between momentum magnitude p and energy E applies. (In this extreme situation, the kinetic energy of an electron is much greater than its rest energy.) What is λ? State your answer in terms of the given variables and c.

Two particles of masses m and 2m are placed on a smooth horizontal table. a string, which joins these two masses, hangs over the edge supporting a pulley, which suspends a particle of mass 3m.the pulley has negligible mass. the two parts of the string on the table are parallel and perpendicular to the edge of the table. the hanging parts of the string are vertical. find the acceleration of the particle of mass 3m.

Two resistors r1 and r2 may be connected either in series or parallel across an ideal battery with emf ε. we desire the rate of energy dissipation of the parallel combination to be 8.75 times that of the series combination. if r1 = 105 ω, what are the (a) smaller and (b) larger of the two values of r2 that result in that dissipation rate?
