One end of a meter stick is pinned (at 0 cm) to a table, so the stick can rotate freely in a plane parallel to the tabletop. Two forces, both parallel to the tabletop, are applied to the stick. If the first force produces a torque of 3 Nm in the clockwise direction, and the second torque is 3.1 Nm in the counterclockwise direction, what is the net torque on the meter stick?

Remember that clockwise is negative, and counterclockwise is positive!
