Using the equations below, these values, and hydraulic gradient you calculated above, determine how long, in years, until the contaminated water intersects your well. Assume the contaminant travels at the same velocity as the groundwater.

h1 and h2 are 2000m apart
h2 is 150 m above water level and h2 is 200 m above water level.

Average velocity of groundwater= (permeability x hydraulic gradient) / porosity
