Following a collision between a large spacecraft and an asteroid, a copper disk of radius 28.0 m and thickness 1.20 m, at a temperature of 850°C, is floating in space, rotating about its axis with an angular speed of 20.0 rad/s. As the disk radiates infrared light, its temperature falls to 20.0°C. No external torque acts on the disk.
A) Find the change in kinetic energy of the disk.
B) Find the change in internal energy of the disk.
C) Find the amount of energy it radiates.

In this thread, i would like you to comment on the nature of light and how operation of telescopes. light has a duality of a particle and a wave; which one affects your life? also how does light interact with optics inside telescopic systems? answer these questions in two paragraphs. then respond the another students response.

Ascientist notices that an oil slick floating on water when viewed from above has many different colors reflecting off the surface, making it look rainbow-like (an effect known as iridescence). she aims a spectrometer at a particular spot and measures the wavelength to be 750 nm (in air). the index of refraction of water is 1.3

Two masses are connected by a rope that hangs over a pulley as shown below. the pulley is a uniform cylinder of radius 푅=0.381meters and mass 푀=3.1푘푔. initially 푚"is on the ground and 푚#rests 2.5 meters above the ground. if the system is released, use conservation of energy to determine the speed of 푚#just before it strikes the ground. assume the pulley bearing is frictionless.
