You have seen that two objects with opposite charges attract each other, and two objects with the same charge repel each other. For example, in a previous activity, you observed how charged strips of tape attracted or repelled one another. How could you have determined which of the pieces of tape were positively or negatively charged? Make sure your procedure includes trying different rods and materials. Remember you need to charge the rod with the material to make it positive. To remove a charge, use the isopropyl pad. Tip: Try not to touch the balloon with the rod.
