Energy Lab Worksheet Part 1: Rube Goldberg Interactive

Use the interactive version of a Rube Goldberg machine in the lesson. Fix the device so the flow of energy is not interrupted, and the window shade can be closed.

Give three examples, from the lab, where potential energy was converted to kinetic energy.
The ball is pushed from the Newton's cradle
The crayons they fell and they have potential energy into kinetic energy
The balls are seesaw and it converted to potential energy to kinetic energy when it was in the air.
Describe the five adjustments you made to the Rube Goldberg device in order to keep the flow of energy going.
The bucket to the rope
To moved the seesaw with the ball
Put together the ball and the sling shot
Moved the self to a different places
Add 5lbs to the other shelf
What was a constraint (a limitation or a condition) in this version?
it would work perfectly when all of it are adjusted but we're made in real life even if everything is in the perfect places.

Aball is thrown from the top of a building with an initial velocity of 21.9 m/s straight upward, at an initial height of 51.6 m above the ground. the ball just misses the edge of the roof on its way down, as shown in the figure. (a) determine the time needed for the ball to reach its maximum height. (b) determine the maximum height. (c) determine the time needed for the ball to return to the height from which it was thrown, and the velocity of the ball at that instant. (d) determine the time needed for the ball to reach the ground. (e) determine the velocity and position of the ball at t = 5.35 s.
