Note: Choose a place to work where the air is cool and dry. Electric charges will dissipate into the air in humid conditions. Part A
Follow these steps to compare pleces of sticky tape that have the same charge:

• Tear off two pieces of clear sticky tape that are about 15 cm (6 inches) long. Stick the two pieces of tape side by side
on the tabletop.
• Tear off two more pieces of tape, and fold under a half inch of each piece as shown in the side view. This tab makes
them easy to pull off later on. Stick these pieces of tape onto the pieces already on the table and smooth them down.

• Using both hands, grab the tabs of the two top pieces of tape. Carefully pull both top pleces of tape off the bottom
pleces. Turn the non-sticky sides of the tape toward each other.
What do you observe? If there's an interaction, explain whether the tape pleces attract or repel each other.
