If you throw a raw egg at the wall, you’ll break the egg. But if you throw with the same speed into a sagging bed sheet, it won’t break. Why? -The sheet is much “slicker” than the wall.
-The impact time when the egg strikes the sagging sheet is long so the impact force is small.
-The velocity of the egg decreases faster in the sheet than on the wall.
-The breaking egg caused a larger impact time, decreasing the force.
