Aria has designed a laboratory apparatus which can be used to decelerate certain charged particles moving at high speeds. While calibrating the apparatus, Aria sends an ion with 11 protons, 9 neutrons, and 5 electrons into it. The ion
enters with a speed of 2.02 x 10 m/s and exits with a speed of 7.54 x 104 m/s.
If the ion is traveling in the +y direction, and the apparatus is 2.58 m across, calculate the magnitude and direction of the
electric field inside the apparatus.
Write your result in unit vector notation, assuming units of Newtons per Coulomb.

Atank has a shape of a cone with a radius at the top of 2 m and a height of 5 m. the tank also has a 1 m spout at the top of the tank. the tank is filled with water up to a height of 2 m. find the work needed to pump all the water out the top of the spout. (use 9.8 m/s2 for g and the fact that the density of water is 1000 kg/m3.)

Refrigerant-134a flows through a carnot heat pump cycle at 0.5 kg/s. it is known that the maximum absolute temperature in the cycle is 1.1 times the minimum absolute temperature, and the net power input to the cycle is 2.5 kw. if the refrigerant changes from a saturated vapor to a saturated liquid during the heat rejection process, determine the maximum magnitude of the enthalpy of vaporization for this process in kj/kg (with 3 significant figures).
