The magnetic field of the Earth goes from the south to the north and in this part it is horizontal

Therefore the current and the magnetic field are parallel, the angle between them is zero

consequently the magnetic force is zero

i just did an experiment like this in my science class. also the answer is yes, it will get separated because they are two opposites meaning if they are opposite they can not attract.
