ANSWER:Ultraviolet radiation has a shorter wavelength than infrared radiation, and thus, the waves have higher energy. This allows them to penetrate the first layers of skin on humans and can mutate the DNA in the cells of the skin. This can result in cancer because of the mutations caused by the ultraviolet radiation.
