In this section, mutual inductance and importance of the cores will be demonstrated. 1. Measure the resistances of the 0.68 mH and 0.42 mH inductors.
2. Adjust the frequency of the function generator to 60 Hz and let the function generator output voltage be the maximum possible (Around 23.2 Vp-p).
3. Connect the sinusoidal voltage from the function generator to the 0.68 mH inductor and measure the voltage across the inductor.
Note: Due to the very small resistance of the inductance, a very large current is required from the function generator. This function generator cannot provide this high output current and thus cannot sustain the maximum voltage. The voltage falls to a value which can be sustained by the function generator.

An insulated 40 ft^3 rigid tank contains air at 50 psia and 120°f. a valve connected to the tank is now opened, and air is allowed to escape until the pressure inside drops to 25 psia. the air temperature during this process is kept constant by an electric resistance heater placed in the tank. determine the electrical work done during this process.
