The General Relativity Theory was a theoretical approach by Einstein to a new concept of Gravity. Which was demonstrated by these two events: The sun rays bending in the Eclipse in 1929, and The precession of Mercury, this theory predicted perfectly both events.

So, the importance in this achievement is that Newton's Law gravitation was limited and didn't explain these events. But, it worked  in the calculation of planet's gravitation. Even-though, Einstein's theory had a minor error margin, which means that it's more precise in every cases than Newton's theory.
