1. The Carnot cycle uses an ideal gas that completes a cycle by going under adiabatic and
isothermal processes. Go back to your slides from the lecture on this cycle and:
(a) Find the amount of work that will be done in this cycle. Present your solution thoroughly
by showing the graph at each step, the amount of work and heat for each step and the net
work that you will find.
(b) If the efficiency of this cycle is calculated as the amount of work that you get to the
amount of energy (heat) that is paid, derive the equation of efficiency in terms of heat of
cold and hot reservoir. Is there also a way to represent efficiency in terms of temperatures
of hot and cold reservoir?
(C)
From your answers to parts (a) and (b) explain thoroughly why you can't
have a heat engine with 100% efficiency?

Two objects of different mass start from rest, are pulled by the same magnitude net force, and are moved through the same distance. the work done on object 1 is 900 j. after the force has pulled each object, object 1 moves twice as fast as object 2. how much work is done on object 2?

Amoving company collects data about couches they move and displays the data in a table. the force along the ramp, the angle of the ramp, and the height the couch is raised to are shown. which statements correctly compare the work done to move the couches? check all that apply. the same amount of work is done for couches 1 and 3. the same amount of work is done for couches 2 and 3. the work for couch 1 is greater than the work for couch 2. the work for couch 2 is less than the work for couch 3. the work for couch 3 is greater than the work for couch 1. the work for couch 2 is greater than the work for couch 1.
