A potato gun is 1.5 m long and it shoots a potato straight up in the air. When the potato launches from the gun, it has a speed of 7.4 m/s. #1) What is the acceleration of the potato while it is in the gun? Presume that the acceleration of the potato in the gun is constant.
#2) What is the acceleration of the potato just after it leaves the gun? Neglect air resistance.
#3) What is the potato's acceleration when it reaches its highest point?
#4) How much time is the potato in the gun while it is being launched?
#5) If air resistance is negligible, how high could the potato go above the end of the tater gun?
#6) How much time does the potato spend moving upwards in the air?
#7) Sketch a velocity vs. time graph for the potato, from when the launch starts at 0.00 seconds until it reaches its highest point. Label the axes, including the values at important times (start of the launch, end of the launch, at top of the path).
#8) Also, sketch an acceleration vs. time graph for the potato. (Label the axes and important values.)
Make sure units are labeled and your work is shown legibly.
Your final answer should be rounded for sig. figs. and clearly indicated.
