A skier is gliding along at 3.0 m/s on horizontal, frictionless snow. He suddenly starts down a 10 incline. His speed at the bottom is 15 m/s. Assume the skier does not leave the ground or jump for the duration of their motion
What is the length of the incline?
Now introduce kinetic friction to the skiers motion. What would our answer to part a) be given a coefficient of static friction of M = 0.1, while keeping everything else the same?
Using the same coefficient of kinetic friction and initial speed, what angle of incline is needed to keep the skiers speed constanta they travel down the incline?

Asmall object with mass 0.200 kg swings back and forth on the lower end of a light rope that is 3.00 m long. the upper end of the rope is attached to the ceiling. as the object swings through its lowest position, where the rope is vertical, the speed of the object is 5.80 m/s. at this point in the motion, what is the tension in the rope? (use g = 9.80 m/s2.)
