An object with a known mass, say one kilogram, is moving from I to II with a known speed, say one meter per second. At II a force acts on the object. The force does not change the object's speed, but does change its direction of motion by 45 degrees. Is it theoretically possible to calculate how strong the force was?
a) Yes, the strength of the force can be calculated (through I might not know how to do the calculation).
b) No, the force cannot be calculated by anyone.

Arunner is training for an upcoming marathon by running around a 100-m-diameter circular track at constant speed. let a coordinate system have its origin at the center of the circle with the x-axis pointing east and the y-axis north. the runner starts at (x, y) = (50 m, 0 m) and runs 2.5 times around the track in a clockwise direction.
