2. Sound wave.- sound wave travels in the form of a longitudinal wave and it requires a material medium for its propagation

The origin of sound is always a kind  of vibrating body. Human voice originates from the vibrations in the vocal chords,  and the sound of musical instruments is due to vibration of the air column.
