As predicted, results from a one-way ANOVA indicated that there were significant differences in memory between the Sugar, Little Sugar, and No Sugar conditions, F(2, 432)= 4.64, p = .010, ƞ2 = .021. Post-hoc comparisons using the Scheffe test indicated that the memory in the sugar condition (M = 22.96, SD = 4.49) was significantly greater than the no sugar condition (M = 21.36, SD = 4.55). However, the little sugar condition (M = 22.10, SD = 4.41) did not significantly differ from either the sugar or no sugar conditions.
