Gustavo Dudamel is considered one of the biggest stars in orchestral music. The demanding conductor leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Dudamel also takes great pride in another role, where he has a reputation for being friendly and approachable. He is the leader of the Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA). The program aims to provide instrumental and orchestral education to children from working-class neighborhoods. Most of the young musicians have no musical experience when they begin working with Dudamel. These children might not otherwise have the chance to participate in an orchestra.
