The first social media begin in 1997 with Six Degrees.  It allowed users to upload a profile and make friends with users.  In 1999, the first blogging sites became popular. This is when the social media exploded into popularity. MySpace, LinkedIn started in early 2000s, then Flicker with photo sharing. YouTube came out in 2005, creating a new way for people to share and communicate. By 206, Facebook and Twitter (Trump's favorite) was available to the world. Now there's Tumblr, Spotify, and Pinterest for sharing music and ideas. This creates an environment where we are all connect person-to-person with only speculation about what the future will bring.
