What exceptional challenges did african americans face during the 1920s and how did they meet them?

They had to deal with things like disenfranchisement, racism, segregation, not being able to vote, threats of physical violence and physical violence itself, including things like lynching and other similar things. They also had to deal with lack of education and the lack of ability to go to public schools which were segregated.
