According to freud, boys in the third psychoanalytic stage of development

1.       old (oral)

2.      age

3.      pensioners (phallic)

4.      love (latent)

5.      grapes (genital).

secretly want to replace their fathers (Oedipus complex)

Explanation: Freud states that children undergo psychological development in five (5) psychosexual phases, this phases are; oral, nal, phallic, latency, and genital phases.

The third phase which is the Phallic Stage occurs between the age of 3 to 6 years, at this stage boys experience Oedipus complex, that is they secretly want to take the position of their father, by imitating his masculinity (The Oedipus complex means one who kills their father to take their position, although most scholars rejects this notion) But that is the kind of feeling a boy at the Phallic Stage will have according to Freud, The boy wouldn't want his father to find out about his feelings though because of the fear that what he loves most might be taken away from him.
